About our Rector

The Reverend Marlene Jacobs was elected as our Rector and began her ministry at St Luke’s on the Feast of All Saints, November 1, 2015.  She is a gifted preacher and a priest who is passionate about inspiring the people of God to discover and live into God’s mission.  Prior to her ministry at St Luke’s, Marlene served as the Rector of St Paul’s Episcopal Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota (2007-2015) and the Assistant Priest at St. Luke’s Church in Kalamazoo, MI (2005-2007).  Before her ordination in 2005, Marlene worked in juvenile corrections as a social worker, and in youth ministry. Marlene is an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoys kayaking, hiking, biking, and skijoring with her two Siberian huskies. In 2014, Marlene completed a 800 kilometer walking pilgrimage from the French Pyrenees to Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

At St Luke’s we are continuously working toward engaging our mission: to worship God, serve Christ, and love one another.  At St Luke’s you will find a vibrant Christian community with an emphasis on children’s formation, music, and outreach in the broader community.  Parishioners at St Luke’s enjoy consistently excellent preaching, long term friendships, and affinity groups where each person is valued and welcomed in forming authentic Christian community, grounded in the Episcopal tradition.  We invite you to “Come and see”  (John 1:39)
