If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact Cindy Stangl at 253-460-6892 or e-mail: email@example.com. 2013 opportunities to serve food bank are Feb. 20&23, Apr. 3&6, May 15&18, Jun 26&29. Volunteer hours are from 11:30 to 4pm on WED. ,and 11am-3pm on SAT.
THANK YOU ALL FOR THE TOILETRIES. Zion Lutheran church youth group assembled 300 hygiene bags for distribution in the New Year. Our own St. Luke’s High School group MADE and handed out 52 bags of cookies to food bank customers in December. They even had the whole room singing jingle bells! They plan to do it again next Christmas!
Monetary donations buy SEVEN times the amount donated ($25 buys $175 worth of food) and are always useful! Checks can be made to St. Luke’s with “food bank” on the memo line. This allows you to receive the tax benefit of your donation. PAPER and PLASTIC SHOPPING BAGS AND RUBBER BANDS ARE MUCH NEEDED! It’s a great way to recycle!
Keep up the good work!
St. Luke’s continues to collect Campbell Soup labels and “box top for education” coupons, which are donated to Mont Downing Elementary school. If you have these items, please put them in the box in the parish hall.
*SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY FOR VOLUNTEERING*
There are opportunities to volunteer on Tues. Thurs. Fri. to help stock shelves. Please contact me if you are interested. Serving at food bank is a great way for the teens to get the community service hours they need! Please contact Cindy Stangl at 460-6892 if you would like to work one of these dates or have questions about food bank.
