I have recently reached the edge of a critical point in my life and career in Boy Scouts. I am trying to earn the rank of Eagle Scout and I need your help! Part of the requirement for earning this rank is to complete an ―Eagle project‖. An Eagle project is something built or created that benefit an organization outside of Boy Scouts. My Eagle project is going to be a ―Little Free Library‖. A ―Little Free Library‖ is basically a small place which will work as a library for the neighborhood and congregation. People can drop off and pick up as many books as they want. It works on the honor system. With the approval of Father Paul and Julie Williams, I have decided to build and donate a library to be placed on the grounds at St. Luke’s. I am tremendously grateful for this opportunity to give back to a place that has given so much to me throughout my life.
I need your help to fill the library with books. There will be a continuous book drive at St. Luke’s to keep the library filled. Located in the Parish Hall there is a Rubbermaid bin labeled ―Little Free Library Book Drive‖. Any books that you have enjoyed and you would like someone else to enjoy can be deposited there. The book drive will act as a constant gift to the church supplying the congregation and neighborhood with a revolving selection of books from multiple genres for years to come.
Please bring your books to the Parish Hall starting Sunday, September 7, 2014.
Thank you so much for your support.
