Dear St. Luke’s parish family,
Moving forward is what we do in our daily lives. We move forward in our jobs, in our home, with friends and family, and in our Church. We are also moving forward here at St. Luke’s, but this year will be a little different. We are a Church in Transition and in search of a new Rector. I know at times it will feel like we are wandering in the wilderness and the time will seem to drag on and that no progress is being made.
But we will need to hold fast our faith in God and in our Search Committee during this Transition. As our Search committee will be exploring the ‘promised land’ for a new Rector, we will wait patiently on their report back. As it says in Deuteronomy 2:7;
For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.
Who can say that we have not been blessed here and that our Church does not have a great foundation? We pray that it will not be forty years till we get a new Rector, but God will be with us and we will lack nothing during this Transition. God has a plan for us and I believe with faith he has a new Rector for us. We just don’t know who it is yet. Amen.
I will be rolling off the Vestry after our Parish meeting here the end of January. I have been blessed to work with such great people here at St. Luke’s which includes the people on the Vestry, various ministries and committees, and the staff here at St. Luke’s. I want to thank all of you.
May God Bless you!
