December is very busy month with visitors and activities. You have probably heard the rumor that St. Nicholas will be visiting St. Luke’s. I am happy to say that rumor is confirmed! St. Nicholas will be visiting during the 10 o’clock service on December 6th and staying to visit and take photos. Don’t forget your camera! If we are talking about St. Nicholas that must mean it is time for Graham Cracker House Kid’s Night, on December 12th from 4pm-6pm, we will be making and decorating graham cracker houses, doing Christmas Crafts, having a “snowball” fight and snacking on pizza. Please bring a tub of frosting and St. Luke’s will supply the rest. This is open to all ages. We do ask that for children age 3 and under an adult stays with them. Ending the Sunday School December activities, The Christmas Pageant. The Pageant will be on December 20th after the 10 am service.
January is a much calmer month. On January 23rd, 4pm-6pm, Random Acts of Craziness Kid’s Night. This night is a mixed bag of activities. There could be games, crafts, and science projects. We will be serving pizza for the snack. All ages are welcome just like Graham Cracker House Night. We do ask children 3 and under have an adult stay with them.
Looking ahead to February, we will be having our second Serving Others Sunday for the school year on February 14th during the 10 am service. For this S. O. S. we will be helping St. Luke’s own Backpack Program. We will be packing easy to prepare meals for children who do not have much available to eat when they aren’t at school. The school sends them home with a backpack with enough food for the weekend. The Backpack Program helps 25 students. 2 bags of food for each child adds up fast. We are hoping to fill many bags to help the program out. We are also having a Movie Night on February 20th 5pm-7pm. The movie will be announced closer to the date.
I want to send out many thank yous to everyone who brought in items for our November Serving Others Sunday. We had many items donated to fill bags for the Rescue Mission. Thank you again!
