St. Luke’s Sunday school gets underway on Sunday, September 11th. Registration will begin at 9:45 am in the Parish Hall. I am looking forward to seeing every-one after what I hope was, a fun and relaxing sum-mer! Sunday school is open to all children age 3 through 8th grade. Sunday school meets during the 10am service during the school year.
Volunteering in Sunday school is not just for those with Sunday school-age children. Any parishioner is welcome to volunteer in our program, whether it be in a Sunday school class, helping out with our Serving Other Sundays, youth events or our annual Christmas pageant. We even look for volunteers to help pur-chase supplies and snacks throughout the year. Please stop by the Sunday school registration table during coffee hour on September 11th to see how you can help!
If you have a child entering grades 7-12, mark your calendars! St. Luke’s Youth will be having a fall re-treat at Camp Huston on September 23-24. Our first ever retreat at Camp Huston early last spring was so much fun that we thought we’d start out the year with one in the fall. Youth will leave after school on Friday, stay in cabins at camp and return around dinnertime on Saturday. We have room for 10 boys and 10 girls and RSVP’s are required! Watch your mailbox for more details!
I have begun contacting individuals to fill the last spots in our Sunday school teaching ranks. Agreeing to be a Sunday school leader involves committing to teaching twice a month during the school year and spending some time preparing your lesson at home during the weeks you teach. As mentioned in a prior article, please consider my request if I contact you. Our children need good leadership in our Sunday school classes and the program simply cannot func-tion without volunteers.
