Tacoma Toy Rescue Mission Holiday Toy Drive Back Again!

Last year, for the Christmas season the families of St Luke’s supported over 200 children through the toy drive sponsored by the High School Sunday class for the Tacoma Toy Rescue Mission. This year they hope to do more!

The Toy Rescue Mission has served the South Sound for over 20 years. Their mission is to refurbish and recycle gently used toys for disadvantaged children and seniors in care-facilities. Qualified families can chose items at the mission for their children on birthdays, Christmas, and Easter. They also support a back to school supply program, a nursing home program, and toys for victims of domestic violence, fires or other emergencies.

During the holiday toy drive the need is for new toys due to the time commitment to clean and sort used toys. A bin and donation information will be placed in the parish hall to collect new toys beginning on Oct 16 and ending on Nov 13th.

For more information on the Toy Rescue Mission you can call their business office 253-460-6711 (ask for Martha Davis) or visit their web-site www.toyrescuemission.org.
