St. Luke’s Sunday School

Our Sunday school year ended on June 11th with a Youth Service, Sunday school recognition and picnic. I am extremely grateful this year for the work, ideas and support of Lisa Vance. Not only does she plan and lead the monthly kid and family nights throughout the school year but she also co-directs VBS with me (couldn’t do it without her) and she teaches at the preschool. Thanks, Lisa, for all that you do!

I also wanted to recognize the individuals who dedicated their time this year to work with our children. These folks quietly serve as volun-teers to help our children hear about God’s Word at their level, with their peers and in a way that is fun and engaging for them. They sacrifice their own time in church each month to teach Sunday school. Thanks to Fran

Fortner, Susan Pfundt-O’Neill, Amy Savage, Brady Christoph, Rhonda Kristoff, Alix Koehler, Christina Sherman, Laura Crane, Beth Sherrill and Patti Crouch-Cook for leading this past year. Our Sunday school program would not exist without volunteers such as these!

Finally, Vacation Bible School is just around the corner. Our registration numbers are growing! VBS runs from July 10-14 and is open to children age 4 through graduating 4th graders. Securing volunteers for VBS is always a challenge and we work hard to create an environment where these volunteers feel supported and not overloaded. So, we ask that children register by July 5th to give us the time we need to adequately place them in groups with these volunteers. These children will be guaranteed a spot in our summer fun. Those registering after the 5th will be admitted if spots are still available.

See you on September 10th for our Fall
Sunday school Kick-off and all-parish picnic!
