St. Luke’s Music Program

Junior Chorister Training Choir: Ages 4-1st grade (First rehearsal Sept. 6th)
Weekly rehearsal on Wednesday nights from 6:00-6:45 p.m. Director: Alicia Gehring Jr. Choristers learn about music and worship through creative games, exercises, and songs. They join the Sr. Choristers at various times throughout the year

Senior Choristers: Grades 2nd-8th grade

Our Sr. Choristers prepare high-quality music during weekly rehearsals that are full of fun and vitality and homemade cookies!



They lead worship once a month at the 10:00 a.m. Eucharist service in addition to Lessons and
Carols, Christmas Eve, Palm Sunday, and Easter. Weekly rehearsal on Wednesday nights from
6:00-6:45 p.m. The Sr. Choristers have the option to participate
in the VOICE for LIFE curriculum devel-oped by the Royal School of Church
Music. Choristers advance through a series of training levels which teach vocal technique, musical fundamentals, knowledge of church practices and music repertoire. Choristers also have the oppor-tunity to attend the Royal School of Church Music summer training courses. Summer 2018 will be in Portland, Oregon. Stay tuned for more details.

Chancel Choir: (First rehearsal Sept. 6th) Our adult choir welcomes high school age singers and up. We sing a wide variety of music but es-pecially enjoy preparing classic choral literature and psalms for our weekly Eucharist services. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Director: Linda Johnson

St. Luke’s Women’s Choir: (Rehearsals TBA) Our Women’s Choir sings three times a year and re-hearses, as needed, before each performance. This choir is a great option for busy people not able to make the weekly commitment for Chancel Choir. We welcome high school age girls. Director: Linda Johnson

St. Luke’s Flute Choir: (Rehearsals TBA) The Flute Choir performs throughout the year includ-ing Christmas Eve and at Lessons and Carols. Pieces are chosen to accommodate experience levels. All flute players are welcome. Director: Jen Johnson

St. Luke’s-Bridge Bell Choir: (First rehearsal Sept. 11th) Rosemary Ponnekanti directs the Bell Choir which performs at various times throughout the year. Rehearsals are scheduled as needed for per-formance preparation. New members are welcome!

St. Luke’s Youth Instrumentalists: Led by Rosemary Ponnekanti, middle and high school age accompany anthems and hymns and perform pieces for preludes and postludes.
