The Care Team:
works in conjunction with Father Paul to minister in practical and pastoral ways to members of the congregation. They provide transportation, visit shut-ins and do small repair and maintenance jobs..

St. Monica's Guild:
This group began nearly forty years ago. This service-oriented organization provides the important ministry of hospitality through decorating the parish hall and preparing food for events such as funeral receptions and parish get-togethers. St. Monica’s also reaches out to members of St. Luke’s who are sick and shut-in, reminding them of God’s love in Christian community.

Daughters of the King:
can trace its roots at St. Luke’s back to 1975. This is an order for laywomen in the Episcopal Church and with members in other denominations. Its primary mission is “the extension of Christ’s Kingdom through Prayer, Service and Evangelism.” To fulfill this mission the Daughters pray regularly for the parish, the Rector, the worldwide Church and other specific needs. St. Luke’s chapter of the Daughters of the King nurtures the spiritual life of our parish by offering quiet mornings in Advent and Lent.

Contemplative Prayer:
This group meets in the church on a monthly basis to meditate on Scripture and to experience the presence of God in silent prayer. The Contemplative Prayer Group practices an ancient form of meditating on Holy Scripture called
lectio divina or “sacred reading.”

Cursillo:
Cursillo is the Spanish word for “short course” in the Christian faith. Cursillo is an international group of Christians who spend a weekend retreat studying what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. St. Luke’s has several group reunions that meet each week where participants provide mutual support and accountability to one another in the life of prayer, study and action.

Crafters:
This group meets weekly to knit, quilt, and embroider a variety of clothing items that are sold at an annual bazaar at the church.

Compline:
A group composed mostly of empty nesters, married and single people who meet in private homes for a short Compline worship service followed by potluck and fellowship.

Canonaides:
This group began long ago by people who assisted Canon Bell with odd jobs at the church. Currently this group of seniors meets for brunch and a social hour at various restaurants once a month after the second Sunday service.

Senior Men's Breakfast
This group meets for breakfast on the first Wednesday of each month at Knapp’s Restaurant on Proctor. Each member defines “senior” for himself.

The Book Club:
gathers monthly to discuss a book read by all members, to give reports on books they’ve read individually and to sample the accompanying tea and cookies.
